Lithium Americas Corp. (TSX: LAC, NYSE: LAC) is focused on advancing lithium projects in Argentina and the United States to production. In Argentina, the Cauchari-Olaroz lithium brine project is advancing towards first production and the Pastos Grandes project represents regional growth. In the US, Thacker Pass is a development-stage lithium project located in Humboldt County in northern Nevada, situated at the southern end of the McDermitt Caldera, approximately 100 km northwest of Winnemucca. In 2018, Lithium Americas completed a pre-feasibility study (PFS) on a two phase project with a production capacity designed to reach 60,000 tpa of battery-grade lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) and 46 year mine life. In 2021, targeted capacity increased to 80,000 tpa and the Company continues to advance the pending Feasibility Study. Thacker Pass has received its Record of Decision and all the key state environmental permits required to start construction. Early works is expected to begin in the second half of 2022.
